Keep rental availability synchronized with Google Calendar
WP Booking System
connects your WordPress booking calendar with Google Calendar using standard
iCalendar (.ics) import and export feeds. Booked or blocked
dates from WP Booking System can appear in Google Calendar, while events from
Google Calendar can be imported into WP Booking System to block availability.
This is designed for date-based rental bookings, making it useful
for holiday homes, cabins, villas, campsites, boats, vehicles, equipment and other
businesses that need to keep availability aligned across more than one calendar.
The connection uses iCalendar feeds rather than a native Google Calendar API.
WP Booking System refreshes imported iCal feeds hourly by default, while Google
Calendar controls how often it refreshes calendars subscribed through iCal.
Because of this, synchronization is automatic but not instant real-time.
How two-way Google Calendar sync works
To synchronize availability in both directions, you connect the two calendars
using their iCalendar feeds:
-
WP Booking System → Google Calendar:
add your WP Booking System export URL as a subscribed calendar in Google Calendar.
-
Google Calendar → WP Booking System:
copy the Google Calendar iCal URL and add it as an import feed to the appropriate
WP Booking System calendar.
-
Keep availability aligned:
imported events can be mapped to your Booked or unavailable legend item so those
dates cannot be booked again through your website.
